Superbon is a monthly series for paid subscribers only of the things that are, well, superbon. The creme de la creme of the past month. Without further ado, my favorite flavors and finds.
Some of the best American style baked goods in Paris can be found at a totally nondescript bakery in the 12th called Adria’s. The red velvet, vanilla speculoos, oreo and chocolate peanut butter cupcakes (plus classic vanilla and chocolate) were perfect for a friend’s recent baby shower. Very much enjoyed a simple, seasonal lunch at the bistro L’Ebauchoir which is located near the Aligre Market. These were the panisse (chickpea fries) with a sheep’s milk cheese cream starter. I wouldn’t cross town for this restaurant, but it’s a great neighborhood option.
There’s only one food item on the menu at Harry’s Bar, and they are the best hot dogs that you’ll have in your life. Worth washing them down with a Bloody Mary because technically they were (supposedly) invented here.
